Lockdown Training Opportunities

We are all becoming comfortable with lockdown and the many restrictions in place, affecting our home lives as well as our work. However, don’t let this affect your chances to improve your soft skills and qualifications. Are you aware that the online learning opportunities are endless? Whether you explore those offered by social media platforms such as LinkedIn, through webinars and links from your connections, or research more official exam bodies that support remote learning, the opportunity to expand your CV skills section is always there.

In the block management sector, the IRPM qualifications have continued through all of the disruption. Many people have recently celebrated passing their latest achievements on social media. They deserve to be congratulated because life contains enough added stress at this time, without focussing on self-development. It could be that having the distraction gave some people the motivation they needed to get through the pandemic. Mental health awareness has been at the forefront of most social media platforms since last March. For those people who may have been furloughed, being able to pour more time into passing exams must have been, dare I say it; enjoyable!

As a recruitment firm, we can’t highlight enough that soft skills really add value to your CV. We are not diminishing official work-related exams; they also have their pride of place on a CV, but soft skills can demonstrate an element to your personality that isn’t as easy to demonstrate through your employment history! It could become a talking point raised during an interview, so don’t nod off during a webinar or lie about attending one. It could come back and bite you with a potential future employer. 

Our advice is to use this time wisely. Do your research and find some courses that can benefit your mental enrichment and your employment potential. Who knows if your future boss is a wild bird expert looking for a fellow avid watcher or someone who will only employ an IRPM qualified candidate? Whoever it may be, make sure your CV is the best it can be by entering the wonderful world of educational opportunities with open arms, and eyes!
