Recruitment is Changing
2025 is very different to 2021

Recruitment in the UK is changing, are you keeping up?
We’re seeing a real shift in how companies hire and how candidates respond.
According to the Office for National Statistics, the number of job vacancies in the UK fell by around 63,000 (7.9%) in the quarter to March–May 2025, down to 736,000. At the same time, the supply of available workers is rising, with the worker-supply index reaching its highest level since December 2020.
So what does this mean for employers?
Cost pressures are increasing = you want to reduce spend without losing quality.
Quality of hire matters more than ever = it’s no longer about filling roles but finding the right fit.
Time to hire is critical = the best candidates move quickly.
And too many companies are still reacting instead of planning ahead.
Recruitment today is harder than it was even two or three years ago. Yes, there are plenty of candidates, but can you attract them? Can you keep them?
If you’re spending heavily on recruitment yet still feel like you’re constantly chasing rather than leading, there is a smarter, more strategic way. I have capacity to work with one new client who wants to turn recruitment from a reactive cost into a proactive plan.
