It’s August! And time for our 10 questions with one of our favourite clients… We spoke to Chris March who works for Fexco Property services and posed 10 questions about industry and life. Here’s what he had to say...

How long have you worked within the Block Management industry? 

About 30 years

How did you come to work within the Block Management Industry?

The letting agency that I owned shared offices with a property developer who built some blocks of flats and asked us if we could manage them. When you are in your early 20s you tend to say yes and think about how afterwards

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I am very lucky in having a job that is full of variety

What makes a good Block Manager? 

The thing that will set a block manager apart is excellent communication. 

IRPM or not? 

Without doubt the IRPM is doing a lot to raise standards and professionalise the sector which we as an organisation are very supportive of

What would be your ideal holiday destination? 

It’s got to be the south of France by a beach (and a good restaurant)

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy long walks on the sea wall near where I live, socialising with friends and spending time in my vegetable plot

What are you obsessed with right now in life?

Life’s too short for obsessions

What are your biggest gripes about recruitment firms?

If they haven’t got the right candidate some of them try to convince clients to shoehorn square pegs into round holes.
