The Old or New 'Norm'

Jun 25, 2020

A post lockdown outlook...

Has the way Property Managers carry out their work changed into a new 'norm'? During lockdown, the block management sector has continued to function to the best of its abilities, whilst social distancing. More Block Managers and Team Leaders have become well-adjusted to working from home as much as possible. Video calling has also become the common form of communication now and an effective way to carry out meetings. Is this going to be the new way of working as we go forward though? Are there some companies that are proving more efficient by eliminating mandatory in-office hours?

It will be interesting to see which companies make long-term changes to the way they operate once the lockdown is fully over. This has to be seen by many companies as an interesting experiment to monitor how they get the best out of their staff despite the new challenges instilled upon them. Companies would not have been able to collate this kind of data had there not been a pandemic. So which companies will use this to their advantage? Making changes is never an easy process whether you are a small or large company, but surely this world event has given them the opportunity to assess its ramifications? Will the company you work for simply return to the old way of working or will you be one of those people embracing a new 'norm'?
